From choosing the perfect theme to choosing the perfect paint color, the decisions often seem endless. Lighting your child’s space will be among the most important decisions that you will make. Use the 12 lighting tips for kids rooms listed below to ensure that your child’s space has proper lighting.

Start with overhead lighting. Overhead lighting is the main lighting that will brighten the space. It is the fixture in the room that will likely give off the most light and be used the most. Popular overhead lighting that are often chosen for kid’s room is ceiling fans with light fixtures included. While this certainly isn’t your only choice, it can help reduce your cooling and heating bill and comes in various designs.

Fixtures that match the theme. The options as far as lighting fixtures are endless. Regardless of what theme you have chosen there is likely one to fit your theme. However, it is recommended that you choose timeless, classic fixtures that will grow with your child. Otherwise you may find yourself changing out the fixtures in the near future.

Task lighting is a must. If you child will be reading, doing homework, or any other task that requires light, it can be beneficial to add in task lighting to the space. Perhaps lighting placed directly over the desk will help your child during the times when he is busy working at his desk.

Built in night lights. Young children often request night lights to help them see during the night. Consider building the night lights directly into the room by placing lights in places such as behind mirrors.

Natural lighting. When deciding upon the perfect lighting for your child’s room, consider the natural light that he or she will have during the day. If very little sunlight is let into the room during the day, you may need to add more lighting.

Focus on energy efficiency. Choose fixtures and bulbs that will save you money over time. Children often spend a lot of time in their rooms.

Colored lighting can add fun. For a burst of fun, choose to add in some color with colored light bulbs. This can give the room a glow that your child and his friends are sure to enjoy.

Fun lamp shades! If adding in color through light bulbs isn’t really your style, choose fun lamp shades. Lamp shapes are available in many different colors. If you need more light, you may need lighter shades. Consider choosing a lamp shade that matches the current décor in the space.

Design your own lamp shades. Take a classic lamp shade and turn it into something fabulous by adding beads, fringe or some other decoration. The lighting added to the room can actually be fun and fit perfectly into the décor. You may even choose to allow your child to help you decorate a lamp for his space.

Versatile lighting. Consider lighting that can be used in many ways. A bedside table lamp can be used as task lighting and to add in additional lighting into the space.

Dimmers can be helpful in some spaces. In nurseries, dimmers can be helpful during those times when mom needs to come check on the baby. Consider adding dimmers to every light switch in your home.

Wall sconces can shed light on art work in kid’s rooms. Sconces are just for your living room and hall way! Consider adding sconces to the wall in your child’s room. Perhaps you want to display artwork or pictures from when your child was an infant. Wall sconces can add a dramatic touch to the space and also help light the area.

Listed above are 12 lighting tips that will help you to set the perfect mood in your child’s room. Allow lighting to transform the room by choosing fixtures that match the theme of the space. From trendy lamp shades to wall sconces, the lighting options are endless. How will you choose to shed light on your child’s space?

Excellent organization and storage space is a must for any child’s room, particularly if more than one child shares the bedroom. With all the toys, books and clothes a child accumulates over time, it`s easy to end up with a cluttered, messy bedroom. While classic organization and storage strategies may work up to a point, you may have to think outside the box if you want your children to keep the room neat.

Sturdy Bookshelf

A bookshelf may seem obvious, but what you need is a small, well-made bookshelf in a neutral tone for your children to display their prize possessions on. The look of the bookshelves will change over time, reflecting your child’s interests, if the pieces are neutral and don’t detract from the shelved items.

For shared bedrooms, you could get each child a small shelf or assign a shelf to each child on the same bookshelf. This gives each child personal space despite the shared room and a spot to store important objects.

If you can afford it and the bedroom layout permits, install a built-in bookcase to enhance storage space even further and add a bit of modern flair to the bedroom. Built-in bookcases are a solid choice if you’ve got children sharing space.

Portable Storage

A fun way to add storage to the room while inspiring your children to keep the room clean is portable storage. Consider personalized metal containers, which you can have customized for each child. You can then assign specific toys to the bucket for storage. For example, the stuffed animals your child must have in bed at night could stay in the bucket when not in use.

Polished wooden crates and boxes are another way to maximize space. Each child in the room can slide their crate or box under their bed when not in use, cutting down on floor clutter.

Wall Options

Wall-mounted hooks are an easy way to keep your child’s coats off the floor and out of the way when not in use. You can add your child’s name to a hook with a backing piece to eliminate confusion over which hook is which in a shared bedroom.

Wall shelving is a good option for a small room. Install wall shelves over each child’s bed to create special, dedicated storage space. Your child can store special objects here if the bookshelves are too full or if they want the item nearby at bedtime. Personalize wall shelving by painting or adding removable decorations that reflect the interest of the child.

Unique Pieces

Don’t be afraid to consider unique storage pieces for your child’s room. Children are more likely to use and respond to storage or organizational aids that are creative and fun. Try asking your children what they would like to have in their room for storage and use elements from their ideas.

Jazz up traditional organizational aids or storage items to make cleaning fun. For example, you could paint bookshelves with colors that reflect the items that belong on the shelf or use sponge paints to add to the design for the items. Before painting, make sure the other coverings in the room, such as the curtains or Venetian blinds, complement the colors you’ve picked for the storage solutions.

One of the rooms you and your baby will spend a great deal of time in at first is the nursery. Since the nursery is the “welcome” part of the home for your child, you may be having a hard time settling on an arrangement and the items you need to make the room perfect.

Furniture Arrangement

Start off by looking at the nursery room’s size. The type of space you have will, in part, dictate the arrangement. For example, if the nursery is a narrow room, you may want to place the crib and the furniture against the same wall. Leaving the other wall open will give the illusion of space and make it easier for you to get in and out of the room.

If you’re using a larger, wider room, you can split the crib and furniture between two opposing walls for a cozy look. Some parents opt to place the crib or bassinet in the center of the room at first, for easier access to the child. Another option is the placement of the dresser near the crib for the first few months for quick access to clothing.

Built-in cabinets or cubbyholes can help if you’ve got limited space. By using wall space, you can maximize the amount of storage in the room. If you don’t want to go through the process of building in storage space, hanging wall cubbyholes or shelves also works.

Experiment with different layout ideas on paper before committing to an arrangement. What you think will work might not seem practical once you’ve put it on paper and it’s easier to tweak your layout before you start buying items.

Necessities

You will need specific furniture pieces for your nursery. You’ll have to have a crib or bassinet. If you decide on a bassinet, you will still need to buy a crib once your baby outgrows the bassinet.

At least one dresser is a must for any nursery. You’ll need a clean, dry place to keep your baby’s clothes. While soft woods, such as pine, are appealing, you’ll want durable furniture in the nursery. Your child won’t be an infant forever and children can be very hard on furniture.

You may want a comfortable rocker or other chair you can sit in with your baby. A rocker is not by nature a necessity, but for some mothers, it’s an absolute must.

Optional Items

If you’re on a tight budget or dealing with limited space, you can skip some items often seen as “necessary” for a nursery. Changing tables, for instance, are incredibly convenient but not required.

You don’t need end tables or nightstands or lamps unless you don’t have an overhead light source in the room. Even if you need more lighting, a thin, pole-style floor lamp will take up less space than a table or nightstand with a lamp.

Look at hardwood furniture for most of your nursery pieces. Hard pieces, such as oak bedroom furniture or maple bedroom pieces, may last your child beyond the infant stage.

You will never regret the time you invest in planning your baby’s nursery. Not only is it a joy to be creating a special space for your newborn child, it is important to think things through properly so that the nursery functions well. Remember; before your baby arrives you have all the time in the world to consider your options. After your baby arrives? Well, that’s another story!

Nursery furniture is widely available in many styles and colours and sometimes it can be difficult to know where to start with choosing furniture and various other items for your baby’s nursery. Sometimes nursery sets consisting of a number of furniture items are the best option. However, be careful not to be seduced by an attractive suite of furniture that looks pretty but fails to offer the best overall practical solutions for the baby’s nursery.

Why not start by thinking of the main activities that are going to be taking place in the nursery?

First of all, we hope that our baby will be sleeping a lot. Select a good quality crib that features a drop-down side and appropriate safety measures to prevent little fingers being trapped. You will find an array of crib styles in all sorts of designs and colours. Once you have selected your crib, why not begin shopping for baby bedding? From blankets to duvets, sleep bags to crib bumpers, their tasteful and contemporary take on baby bedding adds charm to any nursery.

Along with your new bundle of joy comes a whole new bundle of stuff. Stuff that needs storing away somewhere. Forgetting storage solutions in a baby nursery will cause no end of chaos, so make sure you choose wisely and also that you choose enough. You will be surprised how quickly storage space becomes full. Suddenly you will have a mountain of nappies, toys, blankets, towels, books, lotions and potions, clothes, soft toys and changing equipment, so think about where you are going to put them all.

Choose from storage cupboards, shelving units, trunks and chests, stackable boxes and specially designed furniture such as changing stations. You will find attractive examples of all these indispensable storage items at mother and baby retailer Vertbaudet. Choose from different paint finishes and charming designs for all manner of storage requirements, making your baby’s nursery an oasis of order and calm. I personally could not have coped without a changing station. I found that the convenience of having all my baby’s changing kit close to hand, coupled with a piece of furniture at the correct height for my back and wide enough to accommodate a wriggling baby was invaluable.

You will be feeding your child in the nursery and this is a special time for any mother and child, a time for bonding and a unique closeness. Being relaxed and comfortable in the perfect nursing chair is essential in order to get the most out of this most precious of times. Some mothers prefer the motion of a rocking chair to lull baby, others choose the greater support offered by a static armchair. Ultimately the choice is yours, whatever you are more comfortable with.

Bringing home a new baby is an exciting time in the lives of the parents. While it is an exhilarating time, parents need to prepare for the baby by providing a space of his or her own and decorating the nursery. Fortunately, decorating a nursery is not as hard as it might seem.

Theme or Colour

Before starting the decorating process, parents should determine the theme or colour scheme. Themes might include favourite books, stories, fairy tales, movies, sports or even dolls and toys.

For those who are not sure about an appropriate theme or do not want to work on theme decorations, opting for a colour scheme is another option. Colour schemes select one or two base colours and plan the decoration around these colours.

Once the theme or colour is selected, it is then possible to start determining how to decorate the room. That includes paint, furniture and toy placement.

The Walls

The walls are an important part of the decoration and parents should focus on getting the walls painted, wall-papered or covered with murals or pictures and posters before working on any other part of the room.

Depending on the type of theme, the walls will vary. For most decorating ideas, painting a layer in a base colour like white, cream or a light version of the selected colour scheme is a good place to start. Murals or pictures can go on top of the base paint. It is not necessary to paint the wall if they are being wall-papered instead.

Windows

The window treatments of the nursery are just as important as the rest of the decorations. Patterned Roman blinds are always a good choice for the room. It brings texture to the room, particularly for plain painted walls, and it can bring in some colour as well. Patterned Roman blinds are available in a wide range of colours and looks to suit any preferred theme.

Parents should take care to pay attention to where strings are located, regardless of whether it is a curtain or blinds kept on the windows. The strings can become a choke hazard if kept too close to the baby’s crib.

Furniture

The furniture will vary depending on the colour or theme, but usually should include a minimum of a crib and a set of drawers to keep the baby’s clothes. Many baby cribs are available in bedroom sets, which make the selection process easier. For those who are opting for something custom made or who want a mix and match style, getting a few pieces of furniture is often a part of the decorating process.

Parents should obtain a safe crib at the least. For many rooms, a rocking chair or a comfortable seat for the parent is also important because babies will wake up at odd times and parents should expect to want a comfortable place to sit while caring for the child.

Decorating the child’s nursery is about planning what works best for the parents. Ideally, the room should feel comfortable to the parents because a room that feels uncomfortable will lead to discomfort on the child’s part as well.

One thing that is very important is what material will be covering the floor of the room.

A child spends considerably more time making close contact with the floor as they go about the development cycle of increased mobility. Their hands will be used to help them get from one end of the room to the other and they will crawl around in an effort to discover every nook and cranny within their territory. Therefore, it is absolutely essential to cover the child’s room with something that is both comfortable to move about on and does not contain any known toxins.

A large number of these pollutants saturate the air when new carpets or floors are installed which include the products benzene and formaldehyde, which are known carcinogens and can take many years to completely break down. Other sources of toxins are brought in from outside and can become trapped in a carpet’s fibers which often lead to allergic reactions.

If you have decided that it is more comfortable for your child’s room to have carpets laid then there is a choice of green environmentally non-toxic carpets available on the market. You could select one that has been sealed so that gases from the carpet’s fibers are unable to escape into the surrounding air. Even with regular cleaning these green carpets will not let off any toxic vapours.

Carpets manufactured from natural fibers with hardly any chemical treatment are also available widely and are quite competitively priced. These are often made from sea grass, different sorts of jute or natural sisal and have a low toxicity. Woollen carpets, which have been made from natural or vegetable-dyed yarn with only the smallest amount of natural rubber glue, used to help to bond the yarn. It would not be very environmentally friendly to purchase carpets containing nylon as this is derived from petroleum products and could be quite toxic to your child’s health.

If your home is well insulated or the climate is quite balanced year round then there are some good eco-friendly choices when it comes to finding a lining or covering for your child’s floor. ard

Hardwood flooring is quite popular and much of it these days is certified to have come from a sustainable forest resource, which is being regenerated. However, for a child’s comfort level especially when a child is young and might trip or fall over when learning to walk it is a good idea to at least add a few environmentally friendly natural fiber mats to cushion the blow from the tumble.

Cork is a softwood, which is a good alternative to a hardwood and has a certain amount of natural elasticity, which increases its comfort level. This as a flooring material is particularly durable and recovers well if children’s toys are constantly dragged, bounced and scraped across its surface. The cork material is produced from the bark of the cork oak tree, which only takes three years to regenerate.

Bamboo is becoming increasingly common as a green flooring choice and is surprisingly durable, especially as it is not a tree but a type of sturdy grass. It lasts a long period of time and holds out well compared to more customarily used hardwood floors. The flooring material naturally resists the effects of water, insects and mould, and its abundance and speedy growth cycle makes it an excellent green option for a child’s bedroom. There are no toxins to worry about either.

When the time has come to make a decision about the type of flooring or floor covering then seeking out the non-toxic environment friendly way will help to protect your child’s health in years to come.

“Growing up isn’t easy, and if it were, would it take so long?” as a famous mouse, father of Fievel Mousekewitz, once wisely said. Yet time is often what kids don’t have for growing up, as the pressure to be grown quickly is immense. This period between being a child and growing up is not only tough on teenagers…it’s getting tougher on preteens or ‘tweens’, too.

The confusion between enjoying acitivities classed as only for kids and doing what they perceive as typical behaviour of a teenager is tough on your child; and although apart from your support there isn’t much you can do to help, giving your child the opportunity to redesign their room in a tween manner at least gives them a way of expressing themselves and creating a sanctuary at home.

But what is a tween design?

I’m glad you asked, as that’s exactly what I want to talk about. Every tween is different and when you both get together to create the design be sure to take a guiding role, while making sure that your tween has the final decision. The main risk of redesigning a room of a tween is to go too far in the teenager direction. For although your tween may insist, they aren’t a teenager yet, and there are plenty of great things from their childhood that they still need and still want. To prevent them feeling uncomfortable in a too grown up room, encourage a design balance between child and teenager items.

For example, you could purchase a new bed which has a more grown up design, i.e. luxurious looking headboard, but keep the bedding more childlike. If they still like their Angelina Ballerina bedding then encourage them to keep using it. If they insist they are too old, suggest bedding in bright and fun colors such as a bright pink or for the boys consider bedding with interesting patterns such as tribal or oriental symbols. These are often available in black combined with a bright blue or red.

If your child doesn’t have a desk in their room already then now it’s the perfect opportunity to buy them one. When purchasing look to future and consider what school requirements they will soon have and how this desk will be used. This saves you money in the long run, as you are buying one desk instead of two, and is a grwon-up item for your child to be proud of.

For the design of the room consider painting it in pastel tones of your child’s favourite color as opposed to the bright shade you may be tempted by due to their age. This way they get a familiar color in a more grown-up setting.

The window treatment of the room can say a lot about the inhabitant. Brightly colored roller blinds or curtains with fun characters on are great for children, but your tween may want to change them to a more adult version. Popular and trendy with the teenagers are currently wooden shutters painted either in a white-washed pastel tone or in a bold color contrasting the rest of the room. It’s a type of retro-chic that has a timeless appeal to it.

Posters of favourite TV shows, characters or movie stars should be encouraged as this I both a tween and teenager fad, while other more child orientated items like a children’s alarm clock could be replaced by a regular alram clock.

The main difficulty with creating a tween room is that it is very much dependent on the tween. How much of the old do they want gone and how much of the new are they ready for. Some tweens will have a more teenager oriented design while others will feel happier in a more child oriented one.

However, in the journey of finding themselves, they might accumulate quite a collection of belongings that can stack up and threaten to take over the room. In order to keep things in order (or as orderly as possible), here are a few smart tricks to help maximize your kids’ bedroom space.

Choose better beds

Children who share a room will benefit from having a bunk bed, as it frees up a lot of floor space that twin beds might occupy. For older kids, a better space saving-idea is a loft bed. Similar to a bunk bed, a loft bed has a bed up top, but instead of another bed at the bottom, you have an empty space that can be converted into a study or play area. Up for some renovating? Try a Murphy bed, which folds up against the wall when it’s not in use so kids have more room to play during the day.

Get multi-purpose furniture

If you plan on getting a sofa for your kid’s bedroom, choose one that unfolds into a bed for times when he or she invites a friend to a sleep-over.

Toy chests are charming additions to the room, but be sure to go for a design that doubles as a seat as well. Better yet, get ottomans that let you store some of your kids’ things.

Utilize small spaces

If the space under your kids’ regular beds is big enough for them to crawl under, then it’s big enough to use as storage. Get some storage bins and boxes that are big enough to easily slide in and out from under the beds, and use them to stow rarely used items.

Don’t ignore the walls

You can also free up some closet space by affixing wall pegs in the wall behind the door. Tell your kids to hang their jackets, belts and hats there instead of keeping them in drawers. This will also allow them to grab these items easily if they’re in a hurry.

If the floor space isn’t big enough to accommodate a bookshelf, install wall shelves instead. Your kids can use them to display toys, photos and even trophies, keeping tabletops clear for playing or studying. What’s more is that, as long as they’re high enough, these shelves can be used to hold figurines and other decorative breakables that can cause injury.

Organize the closet

Cleaning out your kids’ closets is probably the best way to clear up some space and make room for other things. Find some time when you can go through their things together and figure out which items they want to keep and which ones they can let go or have outgrown. Make sure that you do this with your kids so they know that they know that their opinions matter.

Just because a bedroom is small doesn’t mean it can’t house your child’s big personality and creativity. We just need to make some key storage adjustments to help them along the way.

Decorating any child’s room tastefully is a bit of a challenge. Before you know it you are up to your waist in TV characters and clichéd colour schemes. Not that clichés or TV characters are necessarily bad, but they do provide increased opportunities for tasteless decorating.

Walls, floors and ceilings are normally your first point of attack. Paint schemes, indestructible carpet and interesting finishing elements are normally high on your list of priorities (primarily because there are so many options available), but what about the door?

Most of our home’s doors are not even considered as an opportunity to put a design spin on a room. Unfortunately most children’s doors are typically subject to an extensive number of low quality small stickers or other adhesive eyesores before you can even make a plan. Due of the fact that children’s doors provide such a missed opportunity and can go so horribly wrong we have put together a list of some tasteful and extremely interesting stickers that will hopefully open your eyes to the options available.

1. Welcome to the zoo

We all know how much young children like going to the zoo and seeing all the exotic animals held within. This wall sticker provides a tasteful entry to any animal mad child’s room. Available (along with a lot other stickers) from the Cool Wall art site.

2. Guitar hero!

Older children and teenagers typically get into music at some point. If their passion leans towards guitar based bands or singers why not consider this full size door sticker. It suggests that there is not only an expensive guitar within reach but that the door leads not to their parent’s hallway but a much cooler place…

3. The birds

These bird stickers come as a flock and can subsequently be positioned across whichever space you like. As such these birds can wrap around a kids room (or living room) and can be added to doors and window frames, creating a sense of movement and catch the eye. Bird lovers, youngsters and older style conscious children cannot help but be mesmerised by whatever bird layout you decide upon.

4. Underwater scenes

What child at some point doesn’t dream of having being the ruler of an underwater kingdom? Whether they dream of exploring hidden wrecks or are more concerned with finding Nemo; having a life-size underwater scene on their door will never get boring. Even if your design scheme is nautical and not underwater based; these scenes still looks amazing.

5. A hidden castle

Bring the past to life with a mysterious passageway from the cellar of a medieval castle with beckoning light at the top. What a way to transform the entrance to a child’s room than by turning it into a castle!

Whether you put this sticker on the outside or inside of the door; whoever looks at it will not be able to stop their imagination from racing. Whether it is the only entrance to a hidden land or just a quick way into Hogwarts, kids and adults will have hours of fun discussing what is up the winding staircase.

The above cool door stickers were suggested by Yale composite doors. Yale Door are proud of their front door designs; from contemporary to Victorian front doors there is a style for you. All new doors are U-value compliant and will help lower your family’s carbon footprint.

When we think of all the good things that are children do and have done, it causes all of us parents to pause and reflect. Our children are the most important people in our lives, and as parents, we only want the best for them, always. This is where a playhouse fits in quite nicely with providing a fun and safe environment for the little ones that deserve so very much.

As a parent, you already know the reasons why your very own children deserve a playhouse. While these reasons may be far different from your neighbors, the bottom line is that children deserve and desire a safe and exciting structure. What starts off as an idea in your head, transitions to a physical, very real example of any number of playhouse plans.
Youre children deserve their own playhouse for a variety of reasons. One of the most frequently heard by playhouse design experts is that of healthy fun at home. What could be more exciting than to have your very own playhouse right in your own backyard as a child? All of us parents are not that far removed from our collective childhoods, that we cannot recall the sheer thrill of having a self-made clubhouse in our own backyard.

If you are struggling with finding a reason why your children deserve a playhouse then allow us to help you with that issue. We understand that not all children are 100% angelic and that some children can be quite challenging to deal with on a daily, constant basis. If this describes the relationship between yourself, as a parent, and your own child, then please have a quick look at the top three reasons why your children deserve their own playhouse.

1) Playhouse will Allow for Children to be Outside and in a Safe, very Local Environment

2) Your Children Need to be Outside More and Less in Front of the Television or Computer

3) Parents Need Children to be in a Playhouse Outside of the Real House!

Do you see what happened there? The reasons for a child to have a playhouse in their own home, transitioned to the parents and their very own needs. Parents deserve to have their children from under foot and there is no better method for providing this experience, than to give them a place to call their very own. Welcome to the liberating world of playhouse plans!

Children deserve a safe environment into which they can be themselves and be safe, at the very same time. The safety issue is one that cannot be minimized especially in a world that no longer is a safe place. As this is not a debatable topic any longer, what can be debated is the reasons why your children deserve a playhouse! We realize that not all kids are made of sugar and spice and everything nice as we have a few of those unique creatures ourselves!

Children need a safe and fun area in which to play. Playhouse designs are a great first step into providing the children with that environment. These plans and designs come in a wide variety of styles and options and one will most certainly fit in with your budget and financial requirements. Just as children are uniquely different, so are the budgets that parents need to adhere to and in these difficult economic times, where every dollar is keenly inspected, you need to make certain that your investment is a healthy one.

In order to build a playhouse, you will need to first obtain a playhouse design. These designs can be purchased online or in the brick and mortar establishments as well. What happens most frequently and in these days of Internet access in almost every geographical area of the planet, is that parents are shopping online for these playhouse plans. It just makes good, economic and timely sense to search for and locate a set of playhouse designs online.

Children need a safe and fin-filled area in which to play. A playhouse affords that environment and can be constructed with only a minimal amount of labor and building capabilities. You do not need to be a master craftsman to put together a playhouse for your child or children. All you really need is the desire to provide your children with a location where they can be safe and have all the fun they can possibly have, all within your field of sight. Is that not one of the greatest features of a playhouse, parental supervision at a short distance?

A playhouse is a place where children can be themselves. Playing is what children of all ages like to do and is something that educators and researchers have discovered as being one of the most important aspects of growing up a balanced, nurtured, individual. Does this mean that once you build a playhouse for your children, that they will magically transition from challenging little people to angels in the blink of an eye? Ofcourse not. That would be too easy on all of us parents!

What a playhouse does offer is almost as good as the above scenario, almost. A playhouse offers children a place to have fun at and be out of the house. These sturdy and safe outside buildings for children are made from only the finest materials that are safe as well. Playhouse plans come in a variety of makes and models and are available online in a downloadable format most of the time.

Playhouse designs are what any parent needs to begin building that little piece of heaven for your children and yourselves. We do not have to feel ashamed over the fact that we parents feel almost the same excitement about building a playhouse, as our children do concerning having a place that they can call, ‘all their very own’.

Playhouses provide a sense of protection while offering a location for the children to be as loud as they want to and as rough as they feel the need to be, all in the safety and proximity of their very own backyards! What could be better than that? If you were to weight all of the pros and cons of building a playhouse against any other form of childhood, outside of the home, physical structures, you would see clearly that nothing compares to the features and benefits of a playhouse.

We can list the benefits of a playhouse all day and still not be nearly completed with that listing, as it is exhaustive and without end. What we feel would be a better way to show to you parents, all that a playhouse can provide, to your children and yourselves, is by listing a few of the reasons why your children deserve a playhouse.

1) They have been Exceptionally Good all Through the Winter

2) Based on being ‘Cooped Up’ in the House Through the Cold Winter Months, the Children Deserve a Bit of Fresh Air and Space!

3) Their School Grades Demonstrate that They are Really Trying Hard to Learn and Deserve a Reward in the Form of a Playhouse

Playhouse designs come in all shapes and sizes and there certainly has to be one that youre deserving children find suitable in the lot. With so many options to select from, the most difficult aspect of the entire DIY playhouse project will be the choosing! There are playhouse plans that allow you to create a virtual small village right in your own back yard as well as smaller, single versions that are perfect for a couple of kids to play in and explore.

The choice of which playhouse design is appropriate for your children or child is really contingent upon a variety of factors. The first is the number of children that you have in your family. If you only have one child then that makes a smaller model more appealing and easier to construct and maintain.

Maintenance on a playhouse is all about tidiness as once built and kid-tested tough, then all there really is left to do is to keep the playhouse relatively clean. We understand that’s a tall order to fill for most kids and that is why we are directing this information to you, the parent. In reality, other than making sure the playhouse is not totally trashed is all that remains to be done after the building task is complete. After that, it is all up to the kids as to how much fun and excitement they will have in their new playhouse!

As you can see, there are just as many reasons for children deserving a playhouse as there are kids. The list can be perpetual as we all realize by now that the main reason for children deserving a playhouse in their own backyard stems from the excitability for the children as well as the parents.

Just think about the idea of playhouse building in this manner and you will be sold on the DIY playhouse program instantaneously. Once the playhouse is up and tested for safety, the children can migrate out to the backyard and explore all the livelong day! They will be out of the house and out from under your feet so that you can have some quality, parental alone time. We all need that in our daily lives, if only for an hour or so.

By obtaining a playhouse for the children, you will be seen as the parent who truly cares about their kid’s fun and learning. Many of us parents make the mistake of allowing a gaming system or a computer to take the place of quality, outside time in nature. As parents ourselves, we thoroughly understand how this happens and how it is allowed to continue. The computer in the home is now such a big part of every family members daily and nightly lives and this makes it far too easy for the children to skip over going outside at all.

The best way to offer your children a way out and a way outside, is by constructing a playhouse. Your children will see how a real, DIY playhouse plan and design comes together and they will carry that lesson with them their entire lives. This is only a small but necessary part of educating your child and it only takes a little bit of your time and some sweat equity as well.

In summation, the reasons why your children deserve a playhouse boils down to their well-rounded lives. A child needs to get outside and more often than usual these days. The advent of modern conveniences has many benefits that are obvious in terms of faster everything and more tasks completed in a shorter amount of time. What must be made a daily part of the children’s lives is the time spent outdoors. A playhouse is one of the best ways to get them outside and have them playing and learning in a safe, stable environment.

A playhouse is a great way for kids to be kids. All that you have to do, as a parent, is to house, feed, clothe, and love your children. It matters not what country you happen to call home as these characteristics of good parenting transcend geographical borders. However, if you want your children to be well-rounded individuals that understand the beauty of nature and not only through Wikipedia pages, then you have to provide for them a place to go and be outside. A playhouse solves that issue and will give both your children and yourself, that little piece of mind as well.
